Enjoy and have a relaxing bathtime, with the clean, safe and light weight Lotus bathlift. The Lotus bathlift is a reclining bathlift, which fits neatly into the bath, allowing you to recline in comfort whilst bathing, giving the maximum space possible, with a weight limit of 140kg (22 stone).
It is an easy to assemble, three piece light weight unit, enhancing safe dismantling and removal of the lift from the bath. The recline facility allows you to gently lower yourself into the bath and then recline to an angle of 40 degrees. Due to the pressure sensitive direction buttons on the hand control, the lift can be stopped at any position enabling you to stay in control at all times for comfort and security.
The bathlift is battery operated, with the batteries enclosed within the light weight, waterproof, floating hand control, making it simple and easy for people to use and charge. The battery charges within 1 hour, never stopping you from bathing for long, especially when more than one person benefits from using the bathlift.
The Lotus bathlift is portable, dismantling into three separate components, removing the need for heavy components to be lift from the bottom of the bath. The Lotus can be taken on holiday, enabling you to bathe independently wherever you travel, as well as being light weight and simple for other bathroom users to remove and store when not in use.
The batteries are enclosed within the light weight, waterproof, floating hand control.
Unique to Lotus, this bathlift has an easy to clean surface, only requiring water to clean, coupled with the added comfort of anti-microbial protection, eliminating the threat of cross contamination of infection from other users and carers.
The light on the hand control indicates when the battery needs to be charged, reminding users to charge the batteries, however users can feel safe knowing that as a built in safety feature, if the battery does not have enough charge to lower and raise, the warning light will illuminate and the lift will not go down, only operating in the upward direction, safeguarding user from never getting left at the bottom of the bath.

Learning from the Lotus flower
The Lotus flower leaves unfold dry and clean even from muddy water. Biologists at the Botanical Institute at the University of Bonn in Germany studied this phenomenon, using an electron microscope to examine the surface of the leaves, and realised that the leaf surface is responsible for repelling water.
Through Bio-inspiration: applying what was found in living creatures to engineering, biologists have been able to develop nano technology. A unique ingrediant that creates an easy to clean surface has been added to the product during the manufacturing process, which will not wash off or wear away.

Moving and Handling
The Lotus is light-weight and complies with all moving and handling guidelines, as the product can be dismantled and assembled in the upright position, with only the 2.2kg base plate needing to be lifted from the bottom of the bath. The goverments moving and handling guidelines recommend that a woman should not lift more than 3kg from arms length from the floor level, and 5kg for men. Source: Health and Safety Executive.
Anti-microbial Protection
Infections place over 150,000 people into hospital each year in the UK, accounting for as many as 70,000 deaths each year. It was the importance of infection control being at the forefront of all local authority agenda's, that inspired the development of the bathlift from Bison.
The Lotus provides an additional barrier of defence against the cross contamination of bacteria's which cause infections, between users, carers, OT's and loan store personnel.
Odourless, colourless ingredients are incorporated into the Lotus during the manufacturing process, which cannot be washed off or wear away, provides this protection against cross contamination of infections and bacteria for the life of the product.
The anti-microbial protection, inhibits the growth of microbes such as bacteria, mould and mildew, so microbes in contact with the surface are killed.
